From the supplier: Industry analysts believe that Home Depot and Lowe's will ultimately dominate the home improvement market. Eagle Hardware & Garden may give them stiff opposition in the West Coast and also Menard's with its unique format. This forecast is predicated upon the two economic factors driving this sector. First, no home center store can operate at a loss for an extended period of time. Secondly, there is a limit to the volume of business that warehouse home centers can capture in a given region or locality.
